Fire Ants

Fire ants are, unfortunately, everywhere in the South. That doesn't mean their aren't ways to keep them from your home and yard.  

Tell-tale signs of a fire ant infestation in your yard are dirt mounds like those shown in the pictures to the left.  Not only do the ants produce unattractive dirt mounds, they bite too.  The venom in their bite is extremely painful and can be lethal to young or small animals and humans could experience an allergic reaction that could lead to anaphalactic shock.
